Plot
Dark Souls is set in a dark fantasy world with a similar premise as Demon's Souls. The essence of the game is learning from mistakes and the joy of discovery. From Software is setting the difficulty bar high and aim to make it as difficult as Demon's Souls. The story and world in Dark Souls does not have any connection to From Software's previous work, though.
This game begins with a player creating a character, but jobs have been removed. Project Dark has a wider selection of weapons and magic spells too. Both elements should allow players to find their own style of play. While Demon's Souls was broken up into worlds, fields in Dark Souls are seamlessly connected.
Gameplay
The game will focus on dungeon exploring and the tension and fear that arise when players encounter enemies in this setting. The game is being called a spiritual successor to the PS3 exclusive "Demon's Souls" (which was a spiritual successor to the "King's Field" series of games). The player will battle using various weapons and utilizing strategies to survive in a world set in dark fantasy. Online features will allow players to share the play experience without need for direct communication.
It contrasts to Demons Soul's in a few ways, primarily that there will be more weapons, spells, and no classes. It is also said to be 'significantly harder' than the original, with more enemies and more difficult encounters. It will, however, still include leaving messages to other players, seeing others' deaths, and PvP as well as a new co-op system.

I just bought Demon's Souls yesterday and it is insane.
Im having a perfectly good time getting slaughtered in Demon's Souls, how about you guys?
Well i just killed a fucking Dragon God in Demon's Souls. I get the feeling that the bosses are the easiest part about the game. But thats not really saying much, 4 of the 5 bosses i've slain took me forever to kill. And the game just keeps getting harder! JESUS CHRIST I LOVE THIS GAME! Demon's Souls requires you to use your brain and have a lot of patience.
I'm getting the impression that the only people who hate the game are those who blindly rush into battle without thinking. These are the people who shouldn't be playing games, as the industry will cater to them and continuously dumb down products to appeal to them.
