Version 1.4.1U introduces anti-piracy measures.
Nintendo's latest firmware update for the DSi is blocking certain flashcarts that allow users to play homebrew and pirated games.
The optional update – titled version 1.4.1U – is the first for the handheld since last August, and the official line is that it "provides behind-the-scenes improvements to system performance". However, owners of a number of flashcarts are reporting that they've been blocked out by the firmware.
Flashcarts for the DS which enable pirated and homebrew games were outlawed in the UK this July.
